THE IDEA

A useful problem.
A focused approach.

The problem

Sometimes a focused script is the right tool. This project makes it possible to examine the distribution of a defined palette across a folder of images without introducing a larger application.

The approach

The documented implementation uses Pillow and NumPy. It compares pixel colors with the palette using RGB distance and writes hexadecimal colors with their share of the image to a text file.

What the utility does

  • Process bitmap images from a selected folder
  • Map pixels to the nearest of 32 palette colors
  • Write one color-distribution report per image
  • Use a small Python-based command-line workflow

PROJECT STATUS

Public source code

Source code and usage documentation are available in the public repository. This is a command-line utility, not a hosted SaaS application. Review the repository’s instructions and license before use.
